SHORTCUT KEYS FOR PCs.

Image
SHORTCUT Shortcut keys help provide an easier and quicker method of navigating and executing commands in the computer software. Shortcut keys are commonly accessed by using the  Alt  key (on IBM compatible computers),  Command key  (on Apple computers),  Ctrl  key, or  Shift  key in conjunction with another key. The  de facto standard  for listing a shortcut is listing the  modifier key , a  plus symbol , and another key. In other words, "Ctrl+S" is telling you to press and hold the Ctrl key, and then press the S key too. Shortcut Keys Description Alt+F File menu options in current program. Alt+E Open  Edit  options in current program. Alt+Tab Switch between open programs. F1 View help information (F1 is used by almost every Windows program to display help). F2 Rename a selected file. F5 Refresh the current program window. Ctrl+D Bookmarks the current page in most Internet browsers. ...

SURFACE WEB, DEEP WEB, DARK WEB

Image
SURFACE WEB The Surface Web is the portion of the World Wide Web that is readily available to the general public and searchable with standard web search engines. It is the opposite of the deep web, the part of the web not indexed by a web search engine. DEEP WEB The deep web, invisible web, or hidden web are parts of the World Wide Web whose contents are not indexed by standard web search-engines. The opposite term to the deep web is the "surface web", which is accessible to anyone/everyone using the Internet. DARK WEB The  dark web  is the World Wide  Web  content that exists on darknets, overlay networks that use the  Internet  but require specific software, configurations, or authorization to access.

REAL TIME PCR and its Application notes

Image
REAL TIME PCR   Real-time polymerase chain reaction ( qPCR ) is commonly used to measure gene expression . It is more sensitive than micro arrays in detecting small changes in expression but requires more input RNA and is less adaptable to high-throughput studies.  It is best suited for studies of small subsets of genes.  Its one major shortcoming is that the sequence of the specific target gene of interest must be known (so you can design the PCR primers),  hence real-time PCR can only be used for studying  known genes .   It is also known as a  quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) , which is a laboratory technique of molecular biology based on the polymerase chain reaction . PRINCIPLE OF REAL TIME PCR(qPCR). This same principle of amplification of PCR is employed in real-time PCR. But instead of looking at bands on a gel at the end of the reaction, the process is monitored in “real-time”. The reaction is placed into a real-time PCR machine ...

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and its Applications

Image
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) PCR is an enzymatic process in which a specific region of DNA is replicated over and over again to yield many copies of a particular sequence. This method combines the principles of complementary nucleic acid hybridization with those of nucleic acid replication applied repeatedly through numerous cycles. The most widely used target nucleic acid amplification method is the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This method is able to amplify a single copy of a nucleic acid target, often undetectable by standard hybridization methods, and multiply to 10 7  or more copies in a relatively short period. This thus provides ample target that can be readily detected by numerous methods. APPLICATIONS OF PCR PCR can amplify a single DNA molecule from a complex mixture, largely avoiding the need to use DNA cloning to prepare that molecule. Variants of the technique can similarly amplify a specific single RNA molecule from a complex mixture. DNA sequencing has be...
